Diagnodent is a revolutionary new dental laser tool that safely and effectively detects changes on your tooth's surface that might not be visible on a traditional x-ray.  When this light source is directed at your tooth, anything unusual about the tooth's surface - such as breakdown, or the start of a cavity - causes a different type of light to be bounced back to the instrument.  This light is transferred into an audible sound.  This lets us know what type of preventive treatment you might need.  Diagnodent can even detect decay occuring under a crown, allowing us to quickly catch what could later be a problem.  We want to ensure that every tooth remains yours for life, and that your visit to our office is comfortable and pleasant.  Diagnodent is a unique developement that will not only reduce your need for x-rays; it will catch problems before they even get started.

 

Anxiolysis "Sedation Dentistry"

We completely understand the anxiety that often goes along with dentistry.  It usually stems from unpleasant or even traumatic experiences from someone's past.  We offer many options to help you eliminate your anxiety so that you can have treatment that you may have put off because of your fears.  Anxiolysis is ideal for patients who have larger treatment plans and who may need long appointments to treat an entire quadrant of the mouth at one time. Removal of Tetracycline Stains


Before:
Tetracycline is a very powerful and effective antibiotic, however its use can permanently stain the tooth's enamel.

After:
These stains can be eliminated by application of a bonding resin or porcelain veneers. The result is a dramatic positive change in apperance.

Closing a Gap

Before:
A gap between the front teeth (centrals) can detract from a persons appearance. After careful examination the proper method to close the gap is decided upon.

After:
These methods can be a simple bonding procedure, veneers, or crowns. The proper method is determined on a patient by patient basis. The result is a wider and more confident smile.

Repairing A Chipped Tooth



Before:
A chipped tooth may be unsightly. More importantly it can cause the tooth to be much more sensitive. This is because the dentin is now exposed. Dentin (the material inside the tooth) is more porous/soft than the tooth's outer covering of enamel.

After:
After a chipped tooth is restored, it can be sensitive for 3-4 weeks because of the trauma that can occur during the restoration. After the cavity is placed and the tooth is restored, the tooth should look, function and feel like a natural, healthy tooth. Though, in anterior teeth (front) people should refrain from biting onto hard surfaces with their anterior teeth. After 4 weeks if the tooth is still sensitive, you should schedule an appointment with your dental office as soon as possible.
